4. The amplitude of the alternating voltage

Regardless of the fact that we have a sigle-phase or tri-phased inverter, the only parameter we can act upon is the operating period T . If we wish to adjust the amplitude of the alternating voltage, we'll have to modify the input voltage U (figure 6)

  • by interposing a chopper between the source U and the inverter if this source is a battery of accumulators
  • by using a thyristor rectifier instead of a diode rectifier if the source is an alternating current one.
